Job Overview
We are seeking a hands‑on, strategic leader to own the data strategy for Common Sense. This role will guide how we collect, structure, and analyze data to deliver actionable insights that drive business decisions across Product, Marketing, and the broader organization.
The ideal candidate is a player coach : comfortable rolling up their sleeves to query data, design dashboards, and build models, while also setting a clear vision for how data supports growth, engagement, and mission impact.

What You'll Do
Data Strategy & Leadership
- Define and evolve the organizational data strategy and architecture, ensuring that data pipelines and models effectively serve the needs of the Product, Marketing, and Membership systems.
- Design and oversee business data architecture—including data flow designs, system integration, and schema management—to support robust lifecycle marketing and audience segmentation.
- Establish data governance standards in collaboration with the Legal and Privacy teams.
- Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization, and act as the main data evangelist and educator, leading workshops on leveraging data to drive actionable insights.
Analytics & Insights
Build and lead a team of analysts, architects, and visualization specialists to deliver high-quality dashboards, reports, and insights.Translate complex data into clear narratives that influence strategy and operational priorities.Partner with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to design and evaluate experiments, track user engagement, and guide product evolution.Build predictive churn and subscription models, forecast member growth, and define and track OKRs that guide product evolution and marketing performance.Partner with Marketing to measure campaign performance, audience growth, and brand impact.Hands‑On Execution
Conduct hands‑on analysis (SQL, BI tools, Python / R, etc.) where needed to prototype solutions or guide the team.Build and maintain key dashboards to track KPIs for executives and teams.Ensure smooth integration of data across systems (Braze, Salesforce, Amplitude, GA, etc.).Team Leadership
Manage and mentor a small team of data analysts, architects, and visualization specialists.Set clear priorities and ensure timely delivery of high-impact data projects.Foster collaboration and professional development within the team.What We're Looking For
10+ years of experience in data and analytics roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.Strong hands‑on technical skills in SQL and modern BI / analytics platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, AWS QuickSight, Amplitude, Google Analytics).Experience with subscription management systems, including designing subscription data infrastructure, analyzing churn and retention metrics, and integrating subscription platforms with marketing and CRM systems.Proven experience developing data strategies that inform product and marketing decisions.Experience managing data teams (analysts, architects, visualization experts).#J-18808-Ljbffr
