Howmet Aerospace is currently looking for an X-Ray Tech (Level I) to join our Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) group in Hampton, Virginia.

New Hire Starting Rate : $23.63 p / hr. ; After 6 months : $26.26 p / hr.

This position will receive an hourly "shift premium" of $1.00 p / hr. while assigned to an off shift.

Job Summary : The X-Ray Tech (Level I) will radiograph and inspect castings, sample parts, and structural members for flaws, cracks, or presence of foreign materials and process related deviations.

Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities :

• Must possess the skills and knowledge to process parts, document results, and perform equipment standardization in accordance with approved work instructions.
• Must possess the skills and knowledge to carry out any necessary preparation of parts before or after X-Ray inspection in accordance with approved work instructions.
• Must possess the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standards and customer requirements.
• Must possess the skills and knowledge to advance into and successfully achieve Level II certification.
• Must be receiving of guidance or supervision from a certified Level II or Level III.
• Shall not accept or reject evaluations unless specified in writing and approved by the Level III.
• Operates X-Ray and film processing equipment.
• Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities :

Equipment Used : Various radiographic imaging equipment, 320 MEV, 450 MEV, and Linatron Units.
