JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE : Buffet Supervisor JOBCODE : # 210228

REPORTS TO : Buffet Manager

DEPARTMENT : Food and Beverage

POSITIONS REPORTING TO THIS POSITION : Front of the house Buffet staff

POSITION SUMMARY :

The buffet supervisor directly supervises the daily operation of the buffet. Ensures quality standards are maintained. Reports to manager any situations or updates. Ensures all safety and Health Regulations are adhere to.

TASKS :

1. Frequently meets with chefs about temps, cleanliness and food presentations.

2. Checks frequently to make sure dining room equipment is being maintained.

3. Inspects the dining room for Health and Safety Regulations.

4. Directs, assignment and training of personnel.

5. Keeps weekly accounts of employees hours.

6. Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints.

7. Other duties as requested by management.

EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED :

High School Graduate or GED equivalently. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :

Must be upwardly mobile for periods of up to four hours in length and have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must have the stamina to work at a minimum of 50 to 60 hours per week.

The following activities are normally required to perform these functions : stand, walk, bend, reach, read, write, eye to hand coordination, depth perception, effective verbal communication, strong math skills, excellent organizational skills.

HAZARDS :

Include, but are not limited to : back strain, high noise levels, exposure to cigarette smoke, crowds.
