Responsible for preparing and serving drinks, restocking beverages, serving guests, assisting servers, running food, maintaining bar area and overall cleanliness and presentation of the space.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide friendly, gracious, detail-oriented service to create a memorable dining experiencePrepare for service by setting up bar and filling up drinking waterStock and organize all beverages to maintain highest level of cleanliness possibleGreet guests promptly and take initial beverage order immediatelyHelp guests to make selections from beverage menus, suggest courses and pairings, explain any off-menu dishes and answer all food preparation questionsAble to perform all POS functions : reading KDS and fulfilling ticketsAssist servers and bussers when necessaryCheck identification of all guests who appear under 30 to verify they are of legal drinking age prior to serving themPrepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standard recipesEnsure the bar service station is set up and properly stocked before and during serviceDeal with guest complaints by finding a way to say yes; involve the Manager on Duty as neededMaintain expert knowledge of all menu offeringsUpdate knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunitiesMaintain sanitation to Department of Health standards; keep work area clean and organizedInform Manager on Duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA / workplace safety violationsPerform opening and closing sidework checklists for all shifts workedESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

At least 12-24 months as a Bartender at a high volume restaurantPrevious experience with restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systemsExceptional interpersonal skillsUnderstanding of hygiene and food safety rulesMulti-tasking abilitiesAbility to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
