Accounting Manager

Job Description : The Accounting Manager owns the Company's Corporate Accounting processes, including ensuring the timely completion of month-end close, related balance sheet and cash reconciliations as well as the company's Treasury and Accounts Payable functions. The Accounting Manager applies US GAAP principles and reviews journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly reporting packages; provides critical analysis of changes in account balances; assists in project implementations; supports quarterly reviews and the year-end audit; and supervises, trains and mentors the corporate accounting and treasury teams. The Accounting Manager also oversees the accounts payable and treasury teams and manages the banking relationships.
Responsibilities :
- Manages priorities and deadlines of accounting team to ensure delivery of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year end community financial statements in accordance with US GAAP company accounting policy
- Develops and implements critical financial policies, procedures, and internal controls (SOX) and plays a leading role in directing change initiatives and process improvement
- Ensures financial policy and process are created to ensure accuracy and compliance of key accruals and corporate allocations to individual property financial statements
- Ensures all corporate-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly reporting packages are completed according to monthly close schedule and all close deadlines are achieved
- Ensures cash balances and banking activity is monitored and provided to internal teams as needed and oversees the Company's treasury function
- Performs general ledger account analysis, including documenting variance explanations, compared to prior periods and budgeted amounts
- Supervises, trains, and mentors corporate accountants, treasury and accounts payables personnel.

Education and Experience :
Active CPA license is preferred7+ years of experience including at least 2 years in an accounting leadership roleTrack record of improving speed-to-close and managing audits to successful conclusionPublic accounting experience preferredPrevious experience at the controller / manager level or working at a publicly traded company or multi-entity environments required
