Project Engineer

Job Description

I am currently working with a well established General Contractor & Construction Management specialist with a rich history in the Florida area.

As a Project Engineer , you will assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in the day to day management of commercial construction projects. You'll play a vital role in all phases of the project, from pre-construction to closeout, focusing on technical support, documentation, and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Coordination : Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, including coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and various trade professionals to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Document Control : Manage all project documentation, including submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and meeting minutes. Ensure all documents are accurate, up-to-date, and properly distributed to the project team.
• Cost Management : Help the Project Manager track project costs, prepare and process change orders, and assist with budget forecasting and billing.
• Quality and Safety Assurance : Conduct regular site walks and inspections to ensure work is compliant with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations. Work with the Superintendent to address and resolve any issues.
• Communication : Serve as a key point of contact between the project team, subcontractors, architects, and clients. Facilitate effective communication to ensure everyone is aligned on project goals and progress.
• Pre-Construction Support : Assist with the transition from the bidding phase to construction, including reviewing contract requirements, general conditions, and budgets. Help evaluate projects for constructability and value-engineer cost savings.
