General Maintenance / Porter
Reporting to the Property Manager and under general direction, the General Maintenance / Porter is responsible for cleaning, minor building and grounds repairs, and preventive maintenance of the Property. This is a 32BJ Union position.
The base hourly rate is aligned with market data and is estimated between $23.17 to $30.90 per hour with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus. This hourly range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education / training, experience, and internal equity.
Responsibilities
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
- Clean and supply restrooms
- Clean windows and mirrors
- Dusting, and other tasks related with general cleaning.
- Trash removal, recycling and compacting
- Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies
- Operating floor machines for cleaning, waxing and buffing
- Machine cleaning / maintenance as needed.
- Employee moves, rearranging furniture as needed
- Complete assigned work orders
- Other general cleaning or light-duty maintenance responsibility as assigned
- Provide support for dock / freight activities, receive, and log all parcels, and deliver to end users
- Lobby attendant, check in visitors, organize / direct deliveries, and the like.
- Ability to maintain organized and accurate records
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredPrevious janitorial experience requiredKnowledge and understanding of safety and security procedures and compliance with environmental policies as they apply to cleaning chemicalsMust provide exceptional customer service to all tenant employees and staffAbility to follow schedules and keep commitmentsMust be able to do physical work and operate power equipment normally found in janitorial operationsAttention to detailAbility to follow directions from a supervisorAbility to demonstrate professionalismMust be able to manage time efficiently and to work individually as well as within a teamMust have or obtain Fire Life Safety Director certificate within the first year of employmentMust have or obtain S12 & S13 certificates of fitness within the first year of employmentWorkplace Type
