Reports to :

Discipline Manager, Electrical Engineering

What You Will Do :

• Design of power, lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, audio-visual and security systems for building related construction projects.
• Preparation of electrical construction documentation including drawings and specifications.
• Preparation of electrical conceptual and schematic level engineering reports.
• Performance of construction administration, including shop drawings, RFIs, site visits, etc.
• Preparation of photometric, load and fault current calculations as well as other calculations required to support electrical design.
• Proficiency in applying requirements of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 72, and other applicable building and energy codes.
• Works on major projects or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
• Assists with preparation of proposals for professional services or to obtain funding for engineering projects.
• Successfully works directly with Owners, Vendors, Suppliers, manufacturer Representatives, Code Authorities, as well as co-workers such as architects, other engineering departments, project managers, administrative staff, and others to provide high quality, well-coordinated and technically proficient electrical engineering design solutions for a variety of project assignments.
• Actively participates in project meetings during design and construction activities to represent the Company. It is possible that an occasional meeting may require travel involving both day trips and some overnight stays to out of town project locations.
• Leads site visits to evaluate various facility types during assessment of the existing electrical infrastructure and / or performing similar field survey work in advance of the preparation of appropriate project design and construction phasing solutions.
• Takes an active role in trade organizations aligned with the work of our department or our clients.
