Schedule : Monday-Friday, 6 : 00 AM-2 : 30 PM
Pay Rate : $17.45 per hour
Position Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of material handling equipment and the execution of daily warehouse functions, including order picking, receiving, shipping, inventory control, and quality assurance. This position requires extensive standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs (team lift over 50 lbs), and operating forklifts and RF scanning devices in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
Material Handling & Equipment Operation
Operate powered and non-powered equipment, including stand-up reach trucks, dock stockers, and sit-down forklifts.
Complete daily forklift inspection checklists and report maintenance issues promptly.
Safely palletize, load, and unload products onto LTL, TL trailers, and vans.
Unbox copiers, remove packaging materials, and stage products properly.
Warehouse Operations
Perform order picking using RF devices to process inbound, outbound, and internal orders accurately.
Execute shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying quantities, inspecting product condition, and completing all required documentation.
Conduct cycle counts and support inventory accuracy through Quality Assurance inspections.
Perform stock consolidation to improve workflow and maximize warehouse space.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety procedures.
Follow warehouse Standard Work Instructions (SWI) and maintain compliance with C-TPAT requirements for international shipments.
Inspect all outbound freight to ensure correct items, quantities, and packaging integrity.
Maintain warehouse 5S standards, cleanliness, and organization.
Teamwork & Cross-Functional Support
Assist other departments through cross-training and provide backup support as needed.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet productivity and quality goals.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous forklift certification (Reach truck, Dock stocker, or Sit-down forklift).
Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience, including at least 1 year of stand-up forklift operation.
RF scanner experience required.
Strong math, reading comprehension, and accurate documentation skills.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods (team lift for heavier items).
Ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team environment.
High attention to detail and strong safety awareness.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
