Resident Service Specialist

Job Description :

The Resident Services Specialist provides direct support and guidance to individuals residing in the homeless shelter and hypothermia support locations, ensuring their well-being and progress towards self-sufficiency. This role involves assisting residents with daily needs, addressing immediate concerns, monitoring compliance with shelter rules, supporting resource distribution, and de-escalating conflicts. The Specialist also connects residents with appropriate resources, facilitates access to services, and encourages participation in programs that promote stability and personal growth. The Specialist is also responsible for completing necessary reports and documentation for each scheduled shift.

Skills Required :

• Experience working with adults experiencing homeless, diagnosed with behavior health disorders or are substance dependent
• Counseling and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Basic computers skills tp maintain data in a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
