In 2022, Unbound Now opened The Reagan, a faith-based specialized home for girls ages 12-17 who have experienced sexual exploitation. Our Youth Care Coaches are responsible for the daily care and supervision of youth placed at The Reagan. Youth Care Coaches build healthy relationships with the youth of The Reagan and act as mentors to assist in creating a trauma-informed, healing environment.

Job Summary : Unbound Now Waco runs a specialized home for girls ages 12-17 who have experienced sexual exploitation. The Youth Care Coach will be responsible for the daily care and supervision of youth placed at The Reagan. The Youth Care Coach will build healthy relationships with the youth of The Reagan and will act as a mentor to assist in creating a trauma-informed, healing environment.
Compensation : Hourly rate
Benefits : Unbound Now offers a generous benefits package including health insurance for employee and family with premiums covered by employer; employer-paid life insurance for employee; and the option to participate in Unbound Now's retirement plan (with 3% salary match after 90 days with a 1-year vesting period). Working conditions : Duties are primarily carried out in a residential home or professional setting. On rare occasions, tasks may be performed in environments with exposure to extreme weather conditions, fumes, odors, or elevated noise levels
Travel : This position may require limited travel for training and team / professional development opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Supervise the youth living at The Reagan
- Demonstrate competency, prudent judgment, and self-control in the presence of youth and when performing assigned responsibilities
- Oversee youths' completion of chores to maintain the home's cleanliness and sanitation, including laundry, kitchen, bathrooms, orderliness of the common areas and bedrooms, taking out trash, etc.
- Recognize red flag behavior with youth and respond according to policy, and report appropriately
- Complete laundry for communal linen items such as sheets and towels
- Maintain daily progress notes for each assigned youth before the end of the shift
- Complete incident reports before the end of the shift
- Provide incoming staff with the necessary information at shift change
- Administer and document all administration of prescription and non-prescription medication as approved / required for each youth
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks for youth residing at The Reagan following the established menu, local health regulations, and individual dietary restrictions and allergies
- Provide transportation as needed
- Teach youth life skills through the use of Trauma-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and other trauma-informed approaches to care
- Perform residential responsibilities related to the care of youth in The Reagan, including appropriate clothing and hygiene; participation in school / homework, spiritual development, recreational, and age-appropriate skill development activities
- Develop appropriate, supportive, and professional relationships with each assigned youth
- Serve as a positive role model to youth
- Apply approved behavior modification techniques to de-escalate inappropriate behaviors
- Facilitate and monitor youth phone calls to persons on the youth's approved contact list
- Comply with Unbound Now policies and code of ethics
- Participate in mandatory team meetings, staff training, and other collaborative efforts, as needed
- Participate in supervision and development meetings with the House Manager
Overnight Responsibilities :
Supervise the youth living at The ReaganConduct frequent check-ins at least every 15 minutes on each youth in each room to ensure that the youth remains in the home and their bed.Restock supplies throughout the home for the next dayReview daily notes from each shift for the dayProvide the day staff with the necessary information at shift changeComply with Unbound Now policies and code of ethicsStay awake for the duration of your overnight shiftComplete nightly progress notesComplete daily summary reports of home and property conditions, including repairs / maintenance needs, inventory of items throughout the home, services provided to each youth, and follow-up services and care needed for each youthPrepare blank paperwork for the staff for the next dayParticipate in mandatory team meetings, staff training, and other collaborative efforts, as neededDevelop appropriate, supportive, and professional relationships with each assigned youthTransport youth to school, as neededPrepare and serve meals and snacks for youth placed at The Reagan, following local health codes and youth allergies and food restrictions, following the menuFollow the cleaning list to ensure the house complies with minimum standardsPerform residential responsibilities related to the care of youth in The Reagan, including appropriate clothing and hygiene; participation in school / homework, spiritual development, recreational, and age-appropriate skill development activitiesDemonstrate competency, prudent judgment, and self-control in the presence of youth and when performing assigned responsibilitiesThis position description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
