Framing Carpenter
Summerset Marine Construction has been providing a full range of lakefront services to its customers in Southeastern Wisconsin since 1990. The Framing Carpenter is responsible for supporting and performing a variety of carpentry and construction-related tasks to ensure the successful assembly of piers and accessories. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards in every project.
What You'll Do
- Frame, cut, and assemble materials with precision, performing accurate measurements to ensure quality and adherence to design specifications.
- Construct framing for piers and other structural elements by accurately reading, interpreting, and following blueprints, CAD drawings, and project plans to ensure all work meets design specifications.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Load, unload, and organize materials, tools, and equipment, maintaining an efficient and safe workspace.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors and other crew members to meet project deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Support the assembly and installation of decking materials and accessories such as stairs, benches, and racks.
- Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and a proactive approach to taking on new responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.14 years of experience in framing, carpentry, or construction preferred.Forklift experience preferred.Proficient in reading blueprints, construction drawings, and operating hand and power tools safely.Familiarity with modern carpentry techniques, materials, and measuring tools.Strong understanding of construction math, measurements, and layout techniques.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.Work Behaviors

Work involves walking, talking, hearing, lifting, pushing, pulling and / or carrying up to 100 pounds occasionally in addition to using material handling equipment.May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities require close vision assessments.
