Purpose
The purpose of the Quality Inspector is to perform inspections on incoming, in-process, and final materials / components to verify that such meet required quality specifications.
Primary responsibilities
Inspect and measure incoming materials / components using established quality standards and documentation for each partInspect and measure start-up and in-process components using established quality standards and documentation for eachInspect and measure final components and products using established quality standards and documentation for each partRead engineering drawings and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and suppliesApprove or reject parts based on quality requirementsAssist Quality Engineer in performing First Article inspections as neededAssist Quality Engineer and other management personnel in identifying in-process or supplier trendsAssist Quality Engineer and other engineering / management personnel in identifying opportunities for improving processes and procedures related to quality and material flowResponsible for maintaining a safe work environmentCompetencies and Skills
Ability to learn, understand, and effectively apply sampling plansExcellent attention to detail with a quality mindsetSelf-motivated and able to work with minimal supervisionAbility to work in a team environmentWillingness to take further technical training in areas required to improve job skills when necessaryAbility to use a computer or tablet to process transactionsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, industry specifications and work instructionsBasic knowledge of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore micrometers, height gauges, etc.Physical Demands and Work Environment
