$60k start incentive, insurance day 1, malpractice with tail, PSLF Program!The Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine division at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA, is seeking a board-certified / eligible physician with the desire to do advanced procedures, to enhance its growing Pulmonary Critical Care team. This full-time opportunity combines outpatient pulmonary care, inpatient pulmonary / critical care, and procedural time.Our team is expanding in response to increasing demand and system-wide growth in both critical care services as well an increased volume of procedures, tied to the new cancer center. We are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.This position offers the opportunity to engage with the Geisinger Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine Fellowship, contributing to the education and mentorship of fellows rotating through our program.
Job Duties
Key Responsibilities :
- Support growth of bronchoscopy program, with the option of navigational bronchoscopy
- A typical month to promote work / life balance consists of no more than 2 weeks of inpatient service (1 week ICU, 1 week consults) and 1 weekend
- The remainder of the time is shared between PTO / CME, procedural time and outpatient clinic
- Typical clinic day consists of 6 hours of patient contact time and 2 hours of administrative discretionary time
- Provide state-of-the-art care for a broad range of conditions includinglung cancer, opportunistic infections, pleural disease and drug induced lung diseases, COPD, asthma, lung cancer and pulmonary hypertension
- Access to lung nodule program, home ventilation program, and pulmonary hypertension, advanced sarcoid clinic, interstitial lung disease and exceptional Sleep Medicine program
Procedures & Teaching Opportunities :
Perform advanced procedures : EBUS, navigational bronchoscopyBe an instrumental part of teaching with Geisingers Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship in the Northeast hosting four fellows / year plus Sleep Medicine fellows, Internal Medicine residents and Geisinger medical studentsParticipate in scholarly activities, committees and research as well as interdisciplinary programs with Tumor Board (Thoracic Surgery and Oncology) at both cancer centersOpportunity to present and participate in weekly case conferences, journal clubs, fellow and resident didactics and pathology conferencesReceive both clinical and academic titles upon start at Geisinger College of Health SciencesOpportunities for career development including Geisinger supported MBA, leadership certifications (partners in leadership and E.
