Key Responsibilities :
- Utilize your personal recovery experience to provide support.
- Educate families and communities on mental health and recovery.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor.
- Encourage and support peers in their recovery journey.
- Link individuals to essential community resources including housing, education, and employment assistance.
- Lead recovery education sessions and activities.
- Develop individualized Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP) to support personal goals.
- Facilitate engaging peer support groups.
- Offer socialization opportunities in the community.
- Reach out to individuals with high rates of inpatient hospitalizations.
- Connect with individuals resistant to engaging with the behavioral health system.
- Assist clients in creating and implementing personalized service plans.
- Support individuals during the intake process.
- Educate clients on healthcare changes and their benefits.
- Guide individuals seeking SSI / SSDI benefits through the SOAR process.
- Provide support during client discharges and conduct follow-ups as necessary.
- Empower clients to identify their strengths and resources.
- Work as part of a wraparound team, if applicable.
- Coordinate services as part of case management responsibilities.
Qualifications :
Must be at least 18 years old.Must have personal experience with a mental health condition and / or substance use disorder, be in recovery, and be open to sharing personal experiences.High School Diploma or GED is required.A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is needed.Completion of state-specific Peer Specialist training and exam is mandatory.Be Well with HCA :
