MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Summary :

Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our New Albany branch has an opening for a Maintenance Technician.

Hours for this position are normally Monday - Friday 6 : 00 am - 2 : 00 pm. Overtime and / or working off normal shift may be required to support the equipment maintenance needs of the branch.

The primary focus of this position is to keep our equipment operational by planning, organizing, and executing the branch preventative maintenance program.

Additionally, this position keeps our building and the grounds in good shape which contributes to a safe working environment for our employees.

You'll be responsible for (but not limited to) :

• Reading equipment manuals to understand how to safely operate and properly maintain them
• Performing routine service on equipment to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions
• Troubleshooting equipment to determine specific malfunctioning issue and performing work on equipment to bring it back to full operation
• Communicating with branch management on equipment statuses and maintaining records of maintenance activities
• Keeping the building and grounds in good repair and safe working condition

The most qualified candidates will have :

• Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance process (hydraulics, industrial electrical, PLC's, pneumatics) and safety precautions
• Sound math and problem solving skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or certifications in a technical / manufacturing field a definite plus
• Positive can-do attitude with a strong desire to continuously learn
• Sense of priority combined with ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks

Physical Demands and Work Environment :

• Work environment could include outdoor / indoor fabrication or shop facilities and indoor office facilities
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance without any restrictions
• Position requires frequent standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, and other movements
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions (cold, hot, rain, etc.)
• Noise level is moderate to loud
