Job descriptionAssessment of aerospace composites, ceramics, and alloys Design of test hardware using solid modeling software Test preparation including drawings, requests, and documentation Data collection, analysis, and reporting Laboratory test method development SOLIDWORKS design and modifications 3D printing and additive manufacturing support Prototyping, computer programming, and hardware integration activities Performing additional duties as assigned U.S. Citizen Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance Completed freshman year in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Self-motivated and eager to learn Completed sophomore year in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or related field Programming experience Experience with additive manufacturing / 3D printing Completed physics I, calculus I, and mechanics of materials courses Seniority level : Internship Employment type : Internship Job function : Engineering and Information Technology Industry : Software Development

Our client, Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, Inc., is seeking talented students for an Engineering CO-OP opportunity at our research division (Kratos SRE) located in Birmingham, AL. The CO-OP requires a 3-semester commitment, rotating between work and school semesters.
This posting is for 2 CO-OP positions, starting in Fall 2025 and Summer 2026. The rotation schedule is as follows :
- Rotation 1 - Fall 2025 / Spring 2026
- Rotation 2 - Summer 2026 / Fall 2026
- Rotation 3 - Spring 2027 / Summer 2027
CO-OPs support engineering teams in test preparation, data analysis, and project execution. Responsibilities include :
