Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Labor and Delivery Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel L&D experience At least 4 years required 6 years preferred Schedule Notes : 13 Week Assignment Nightshift only 3- 12 hour shifts per week No on-call required Will need to work a Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years) Will be required to float to Liberty campus (25 miles away) at least 1x month Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery) Location : The Christ Hospital (TCH), Ohio Department : Labor & Delivery Unit Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Labor & Delivery Unit provides comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally sensitive nursing care to patients and families during the childbirth experience. Using specialized clinical knowledge, judgment, and skills, the RN delivers patient-centered care based on the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. Care delivery aligns with The Christ Hospital’s model of care, promoting ongoing partnership among patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The RN practices in accordance with the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics and within the scope defined by the Ohio Nurse Practice Act . Unit Description Unit Size : 29 beds Annual Volume : ~3,100 deliveries and ~2,100 ambulatory patients per year Patient Population : Newborns, adolescents, young adults, and adults Unit Layout : 12 Labor and Delivery beds 4 High-risk beds 3 Post-op recovery beds 3 Surgical suites 4-bed triage area Services : Triage, admission, stabilization, delivery, or transfer to a Level III facility when appropriate Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals and groups of patients in the Labor & Delivery setting. Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, and family-centered care. Effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies and professional ethical standards. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changes in patient condition or unit needs. Maintain professional competence through continuing education and evidence of ongoing professional growth. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support best practices in perinatal nursing care. Required Skills & Experience Demonstrated ability to deliver safe, evidence-based, age- and culturally appropriate care. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. Commitment to patient advocacy, safety, and professional nursing standards.
