Job Description & Requirements Specialty : ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 22 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Required Certifications : BLS , ACLS , NIHSS Preferred : CCRN , Basic Critical Care Course Shift & Scheduling 12-hour night shifts 2 weekends per 4-week schedule 2 out of 3 major holidays Unit Overview Unit : Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Beds : 20 Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 2 Charge Nurse : Present every shift, non-patient-taking; resource for entire hospital Nurse Aides : None EMR : Cerner Patient Types / Common Diagnoses Sepsis DKA / Hyperglycemia COPD Post-PCI cardiac patients (not a STEMI center) CVA GI bleeds Medically complex / surgical ICU recovery Vented patients (manage comfortably with ABCDEF bundle ) Common drips : Versed, Propofol, Norepinephrine Clinical Support Respiratory Therapy : 24 / 7 (manages vents) Pharmacy : 24 / 7 Internal Medicine in house 24 / 7 Pulmonologists function as intensivists (not 24 / 7) Must have strong IV skills (no IV team) Telemetry : GE System – nurses must read & interpret their own strips Floating Requirements Travelers are first to float Float to : Telemetry, Med-Surg On float units, assignment may include 4–5 patients Must be willing / comfortable with full patient load while floating ICU staff may be deployed to ED to care for boarded ICU patients Orientation 2 shifts in ICU 1 shift on float unit Job Id : 1013817 About First Connect Health At First Connect Health , we take pride in being a Joint Commission–certified healthcare staffing agency , headquartered in Newark, New Jersey.
