A Day in the Life
The Sr DevOps Architect will build functional systems that improve customer experience. This role is responsible for managing the cloud infrastructure and CI / CD pipelines for the Data Platform and Data Engineering team. They will work closely with the Enterprise Cloud Platform Engineering team and the Enterprise DevOps team, acting as a bridge between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration tasks. Daily activities include but not limited to solution architecture, infrastructure monitoring, incident response, and automated infrastructure and application deployments across all software development lifecycles.
The salary is expected to start around $130k, commensurate with experience.
What You'll Do
- Build CI / CD Pipeline capabilities using Jenkins, Cloudbees, or ArgoCD,
- Build / maintain Infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible
- Provide level 3 technical support
- Perform root cause analysis for production errors
- Design and lead the implementation of DevOps automation processes including Infrastructure as Code, Software deployment
- Research problems and break them into deliverable parts
- Ability to work in both a strategic long-term mindset and a lean mindset with rapid delivery
- Developing cloud first, global IaaS, CI / CD, and general automation processes utilizing the appropriate technology for the task at hand
What We're Looking For
10+ years total of software engineering, system administration, and / or DevOps; Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science or other related field preferredExperience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer or similar software engineering roleExperience in CI / CD principles and Pipeline development (preferrably in Jenkins, ArgoCD or Cloudbees)Strategic and long-term thinking skillsExperience with git and git workflowsExperience with Infrastructure as Code and tools including Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation preferredWorking knowledge of Lean and Agile methodologiesExperience deploying to cloud environmentsExperience in cloud resource optimization preferredExperience with Linux and Windows system administrationAbility to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locationsAbility to influenceFlexible and adaptable; ability to work effectively in ambiguous situationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsResults driven, ability to make decisions and help solve problemsAbility to build and lead a diverse, high-performing, results-oriented, and highly-engaged team.Ability to drive process and organizational change.Ability to motivate teams and keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work under minimal supervision with a goal-oriented mindset.Ability to see the big picture and leverage critical thinking and decision-making skills.Excellent organization, time management, delegation, and prioritization skills.Courageous leadership and accountability.Remote role; follows Eastern Time (ET) business hours.What Youll Get :
