Position Summary
This role is responsible for modification, enhancements and improvements of existing products and materials in accordance with and utilizing professional engineering design principles and practices, as well as new product designs in collaboration with sales and operations.
This is an integral position within the organization and will interface and provide a technical support bridge between quality, operations, sales, and supply chain.
Responsibilities
- technical support to sales, operations, and supply chain departments.
- Assist in the creation of quotes based on requirements provided by customers, as well as the creation of specifications for customer signoffs.
- Creation of detailed technical specifications for the purpose of product manufacturing.
- Maintenance of specifications to ensure accuracy between documentation and product manufactured.
- Review and analyze specifications for raw materials used in product manufacturing.
- Maintain UL and regulatory standards.
- Ensuring specifications comply with project requirements, institutional guidelines and existing laws, rules and regulations.
- Responsible for writing and editing specifications for project base medium voltage cables.
- Ability to lead new product development projects while following established new product development stage gate system.
- Preform data analysis through the use of statistical software (e.g. Minitab, other) in order to improve quality of new cables as well as current / older versions.
- Assist in catalog creation / modification as well as with official website regarding technical training, technology explanations and performance-oriented sales materials.
- Assist quality in creation of test procedures, testing templates, test fixtures, and equipment purchases?
- Work closely with suppliers on production and process engineering to review technical obstacles presented in day-to-day operations.
- Assist warehouse staff with quality assurance issues relating to performance and failure analysis.
