Role Overview : We are currently recruiting a senior associate consultant to join our Turnaround & Restructuring (T&R) team. Responsibilities :
Independently structures basic issue analyses contributes to hypothesis generationBuilds analytical tools and financial analyses that show a proper understanding of competing needs (timing, flexibility, detail, risk) with limited directionIdentifies and articulates opportunities for more advanced analytic approaches outside of basic ExcelDrafts client ready data requestsManages administrative and organizational matters of engagementAssembles reports, graphs, and tables with limited guidancePresents work, as required, both internally and to clientsInterfaces directly with more senior clients to gather data and develop analyses in areas of responsibilityDemonstrates a basic understanding of credit agreement termsCalculates covenant complianceApplies common restructuring concepts apply to distressed situationsBeginning to identify potential issues related to complex accounting or financial concepts (taxes, impairments, pensions, currencies, etc.Prepares high level valuation, with guidanceUnderstands common bankruptcy terms and key provisions of the codeUnderstands principles of chapter 11, POR, and 363 saleUnderstands key activities of bankruptcy preparationMentors Associates when appropriate including review of work product and recommendations for improvementsRequirements :
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a top tier restructuring consulting firmAn undergraduate degree from a top academic institution with a strong GPAAdvanced degree(s) and applicable professional certification(s) are preferred (CFA, CIRA, CPA)Restructuring experience requiredExperience with financial modeling including 3 statement analysis and 13-week cash flow modelsAbility and willingness to undertake extensive travel is requiredWillingness to work at times, long hours during the week and on weekends due to client demands may be necessaryExperience with analytical tools and financial analyses that show a proper understanding of competing needs (timing, flexibility, detail, risk) with limited directionIdentifies and articulates opportunities for more advanced analytic approaches outside of basic ExcelDemonstrates ability to contribute to identification of key issuesAble to understand concepts of data patterns and trendsExhibits critical thinking and problem-solving capabilityDemonstrates ability to synthesize analysis and draw conclusions
