Job description

We are currently searching for two Field Project Engineers to work on tank rehabilitation projcts in the Washington DC Metro area (Maryland side). Both projects will will involve water tank rehabilitation that have site work, utility work, steel repairs, electrical, sandblasting and painting scopes.

Job description :

The Onsite Field Engineer will support the Superintendent and Project Manager in specific parts of the project.

The Onsite Field Engineer reports to the Project Manager

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business. A minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in the construction industry.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Responsibilities :

Construction

Construction safety knowledge

Site logistics coordination

Site layout and stake out (line & grade)

Subcontractor coordination and look-ahead scheduling

Site daily reporting process

Quality control process

Subcontract administration and enforcement

Read and interpret project specifications, drawings and CPM schedule

Submittal and RFI review and interpretation

Redline drawing updates

Support of Project Manager and Superintendent

Complete detailed daily reports

Document existing conditions thoroughly

Schedule material deliveries and coordinate the logistics of such - schedule, Client down area, storage, etc.

Provide input to the 2 week look ahead schedule

Solve routine problems - if assistant cannot solve, then present to superintendent

Supervise a specific part of the project

Must be able to coordinate subcontractor work with help from the superintendent

Must be able to read, understand and communicate information from construction drawings and specifications, submittal data, and other project correspondence as required

Perform weekly Safety meetings

Monitor project for unsafe conditions

Give proper and immediate direction to correct unsafe conditions
