Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems presents an excellent opportunity for a Principal or Sr Principal Engineer Systems – PKI Engineer (25-418) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This role, based in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL, is crucial in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Position Overview
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It provides a vital operational platform that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle developments, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems to accomplish global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to enhance overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is an essential component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.
The selected candidate will assist the C2BMC DevSecOps team in designing, developing, testing, implementing, and integrating PKI solutions focused on code signing and key management operations. The role requires extensive expertise, innovative problem-solving, independent work, and the ability to lead initiatives and represent the organization on key technical matters concerning contracts. Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, strong time management, and outstanding analytical abilities are essential.
Essential Functions
Must be an effective communicator with strong written communication skills.
Must be responsible for working independently or solo at times on large projects, and at other times collaborate with a team of DevSecOps engineers and other program development and deployment teams.
5-7 years of experience supporting Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services and PKI technologies.
This position will be filled as either a Level 3 or Level 4.
Huntsville salary for Level 3 : $105,400 - $158,000
Huntsville salary for Level 4 : $131,100 - $196,700
Colorado Springs salary for Level 3 : $100,300 - $150,500
Colorado Springs salary for Level 4 : $124,900 - $187,300

Basic Qualifications
Level 3 : A Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field) with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree (preferred) with 3 years of relevant experience; or a PhD with 1 year of relevant experience.
Level 4 : A Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 8 years of experience; or a Master's degree (preferred) with 6 years of relevant experience; or a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience.
Applicants must hold a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start.
Appropriate IAM Level III DoDI 8570 certification required. Internal candidates with IAT Level II cert and the ability to obtain IAM Level III cert within the 8570 prescribed guidelines will be considered as well.

Certification : INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification.
Certification : Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF).

Primary Level Salary Range : $124,900.00 - $196,700.00
Secondary Level Salary Range : $100,300.00 - $158,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and share in company results. Employees in VP or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and PTO for vacation and / or personal business.
