Senior Marketing Director
Position Overview
This leadership role is responsible for driving the strategic marketing of a portfolio of continuing education programs, membership initiatives, and major organizational events. The successful candidate will design and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that strengthen the organization’s brand, increase program participation, grow membership, and enhance its position as a leading professional association.
Responsibilities
Continuing Education Programs
- Lead marketing strategy for an extensive portfolio of continuing education offerings.
- Develop targeted campaigns to increase enrollment and maximize attendance.
- Partner with subject matter experts and program directors to identify value propositions and target audiences.
- Create and implement marketing plans for seminars, workshops, certifications, and other flagship programs.
- Monitor performance, analyze metrics, and apply data-driven improvements.
- Expand the digital presence and promotion of online learning opportunities.
Membership Growth and Retention
Develop and execute strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones.Create compelling value propositions and clearly communicate membership benefits.Manage member benefit offerings, ensuring alignment with member needs and organizational goals.Identify and pursue new membership segments and growth opportunities.Track trends, analyze data, and refine strategies accordingly.Enhance member engagement through targeted communications and personalized outreach.Events and Initiatives
Lead marketing efforts for annual meetings, conferences, and signature events.Increase attendance and sponsorship through innovative campaigns.Collaborate with event teams to ensure cohesive promotion and seamless execution.Design marketing strategies for new initiatives and special projects.Execute integrated campaigns across digital, print, and in-person channels.Strategic Marketing Leadership
Develop and oversee the organization’s overall marketing strategy.Manage the marketing budget and allocate resources effectively.Drive brand management efforts to ensure consistent messaging and identity.Oversee content creation for web, publications, email, and social platforms.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.Conduct market and competitive analyses to identify opportunities.Digital Marketing and Communications
Oversee digital marketing, including website, email, and social media campaigns.Manage social media presence across multiple platforms.Develop engaging content and editorial calendars.Implement marketing automation and CRM strategies to improve engagement.Track and evaluate performance metrics to maximize ROI.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).7–10 years of progressive marketing experience, ideally within associations or professional services.Proven success developing and executing marketing campaigns for education programs and events.Strong background in membership marketing and engagement.Excellent project management and multitasking skills.Analytical thinker with experience using data for decision-making.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Leadership experience with cross-departmental collaboration.Proficiency in digital marketing tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.Experience with budget management and resource allocation.Requirements
