Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Corporate Controller to lead the financial reporting, accounting operations, and cash management for our diverse portfolio of approximately 50 entities with revenues totaling ~$150 million. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a strong background in multi‑entity management within a holding company structure. This role requires an expert user of Sage Intacct, a leader with exceptional communication skills, and a strategic partner to executive management.
The Controller will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data, streamlining month‑end close processes, optimizing cash flow across multiple bank accounts, and providing accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting to support the overall business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial management and reporting for 50+ entities, ensuring proper inter‑entity eliminations, reconciliations, and consolidations within Sage Intacct.
- Act as the Sage Intacct subject‑matter expert, leveraging its multi‑dimension reporting and consolidation features to provide deep, actionable insights into financial performance. Automate processes such as currency conversions, inter‑entity transactions, and allocation entries.
- Direct the preparation of accurate, timely, and compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Continuously assess current accounting operations, identify inefficiencies, and drive automation and process improvements, particularly related to the month‑end close and intercompany transactions.
- Establish, document, and enforce a robust system of internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
- Coordinate the company‑wide budget and forecasting processes for all entities, analyze variances against actuals, and provide clear explanations and recommendations to senior management.
- Oversee comprehensive cash management functions across multiple bank accounts, including daily cash positioning, cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and optimizing banking relationships. Monitor debt covenant compliance and manage treasury‑related reporting.
- Supervise, mentor, and lead the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accuracy, and professional growth.
- Coordinate and manage the activities of external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient annual audit process.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic financial planning, capital expenditures, and other financial decisions. Act as a trusted partner in evaluating new business initiatives and mergers and acquisitions.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree (MBA) is a plus.Certification : Active CPA license required.Experience : 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Corporate Controller role overseeing a multi‑entity structure. Experience managing a large number of entities (50+) is a must‑have, alongside proven expertise in cash management across multiple bank accounts.Technical Skills : Advanced proficiency with Sage Intacct (multi‑entity consolidation, general ledger, cash management modules). Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and advanced functions.
