Surgery Scheduler, Surgery, Full Time
The Surgery Scheduler performs surgery scheduling and various routine clerical tasks. The Surgery Scheduler oversees insurance inquiries; performs pre-admission reviews and explains deductible and payments if necessary; schedules surgery time with hospital and schedules physical before surgery date. Works closely with Office Manager and other members of the office to trouble-shoot and resolve problems, maintains positive relationships with patients, family members and other visitors, and fellow employees.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of medical / surgical terminology and procedures
- Knowledge of ICD-10 CM and CPT coding systems.
- Strong knowledge of computers and computerized practice management systems and other computerized systems (Microsoft office programs and electronic health records systems).
- Demonstrates good telephone management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks with interruption and able to multi-task
- Critical thinking, the ability to identify problems, good solving skills to resolve them in a timely manner
- Use of customer service principles and practices
- Good English communication skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Excellent grammar, punctuation, proofreading, editing and composition skills
- Demonstrates effective communication skills, bilingual helpful.
