1⃣ Who we are
Our company was foundedin 2006 specializing in all things technical for bus-based public transitsystems in the US. This means we design, manufacture, and manage all kinds ofdifferent products and features, including driver interfaces, dispatch communications,passenger counters, announcers, GPS tracking, and reporting & dataanalytics. It also means we build real-time information systems for ridersincluding apps and digital signage found at bus stops. We have relationshipswith Apple Maps, Google Maps, Transit app, and our work goes out to millions ofriders on those platforms. Our product is like air traffic control, but forbuses. There are a mix of hardware and software products in this role. We hopethis excites you!
The US-based division of the company has approximately 60 people, with 15in the product / engineering department. It's the best of both worlds : smallcompany feel with big company support.
We have offices in Downtown LA & Houston, TX, plus many remoteemployees, and we hold offsites once or twice a year where we all get together.

4⃣ Whatwe need you to do in this role
We are looking for problem solvers. Someone who can be given a task and ownit from beginning to end. You will be coming up with designs for new systemsand new configurations as well as supporting existing systems. Documenting,testing, and proving the stability of these systems is key. If an issue arisesin the field we will lean on your knowledge and expertise to guide the team onthe ground to come up with a feasible solution. We will also ask you todiagnose failures on the hardware and include the lessons learned into futuredesigns.
You will collaborate with other hardware engineers, software engineers,field engineers, and our warehouse to help deliver a quality product,consistently and on time. You'll work directly in a small team of 3 hardwareengineers within the product-engineering side of the organization. This role isexpected to be in office with the hardware lab multiple days per week.
