North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA) is seeking a visionary Director of AI Strategy & Governance to shape, govern, and operationalize the enterprise wide artificial intelligence (AI) agenda. This leader will own the AI roadmapfrom ideation through scaled deliveryensuring initiatives drive measurable value while meeting the highest standards of clinical safety, regulatory compliance, and ethical use. The ideal candidate combines deep technical fluency in modern AI / ML (including Generative AI) with proven strategic acumen and stellar stakeholder influence skills.

Position Requirements

Key responsibilities include :

• Craft and continuously refine a 3-year AI vision aligned to business goals, identifying high-impact use cases across Revenue Cycle Management, clinical operations, patient experience, talent, and growth.
• Translate vision into a prioritized portfolio with clear value targets, resourcing, and funding models.
• Establish and chair the AI Governance Council; define policies covering model lifecycle, data privacy (HIPAA, GDPR), bias / ethical safeguards, and responsible AI principles.
• Implement monitoring, audit, and incident-response processes for AI solutions in production.
• Lead the AI Center of Excellence, overseeing solution architecture, MLOps, vendor selection, and agile project execution.
• Create reusable frameworks, reference architectures, and development standards to accelerate delivery.
• Partner with Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Data Engineering teams to ensure scalable, secure platforms (SAAS / Cloud) for training, deploying, and monitoring models.
• Drive adoption of modern tooling (e.g., vector databases, feature stores, prompt engineering patterns).
• Define success metrics (cost savings, revenue uplift, quality, adoption) and report progress to executive leadership and the Board.
• Evangelize AI opportunities, build executive-level relationships, and lead change-management initiatives to foster a data-driven, AI-first culture across clinical and business domains.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing cross-functional team of data scientists, ML engineers, and analysts.
• Evaluate and manage strategic partnerships with cloud providers, AI vendors, and research institutions.
