Assistant General Manager (AGM)
Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager oversees daily front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, smooth team performance, and profitable results. This role partners with the General Manager to lead staff, manage costs, and maintain high standards of hospitality and compliance.
Assistant General Manager (AGM) Key Responsibilities
- Support hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of team members
- Foster a positive, team-driven culture and resolve guest concerns professionally
- Oversee bar operations, including inventory, ordering, scheduling, and labor management
- Monitor food quality, safety, and sanitation; maintain DOH standards of 95+
- Manage labor, beverage cost, inventory, and financial controls
- Act as a hands-on leader, assisting staff in service roles when needed
- Maintain strong communication with the GM and executive team
Assistant General Manager (AGM) Qualifications
Minimum 2 years’ experience as Assistant Manager or above in full-service restaurantsProficient with Toast, R365, Isolved, and Wisetail (or similar systems)Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skillsAbility to manage labor and cost controls effectivelyServSafe or equivalent certification requiredFlexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical Requirements
