An Electroencephalogram (EEG) Technician is a healthcare professional specializing in recording and analyzing the electrical activity of the brain to assist in diagnosing neurological conditions such as epilepsy, brain tumors, and sleep disorders.nnCommon Duties of an EEG Technician : nnPatient Preparation : Explain procedures to patients, obtain relevant medical histories, and ensure patient comfort. ?nnConducting EEG Tests : Apply electrodes to patients' scalps, operate EEG equipment, and monitor brain wave activity during tests. ?nnData Recording and Analysis : Record test results, identify and eliminate artifacts, and prepare data for physician interpretation. ?nnEquipment Maintenance : Ensure EEG equipment is properly calibrated and functioning, and perform routine maintenance.nnDocumentation : Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient information. ?nnCollaboration : Work with physicians and healthcare teams to discuss findings and assist in patient care planning. ?nnCertification and Licensure Requirements : nnAs of now, there are no universal state licensing requirements for EEG technicians in the United States.
