Overview
RRD has an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift Contract IT Support Engineer in our Houston, TX facility. The hours of this position are M-F, 4pm-12am.
Responsibilities
- Provides support and works across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems, and requests related to our endpoint fleet of equipment.
- Communicates effectively about a broad range of technologies and explains solutions in technical and nontechnical terms.
- Delivers first-class customer service, ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner.
- Build, install and maintain endpoints (PCs & MAC) in accordance with IT standards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot issues related to installed endpoints (Windows & MAC), with routine maintenance as assigned.
- Prioritize problems based on severity, urgency and impact to the business; track all outstanding incidents until successful resolution. May hand off extremely complex problems to higher-level support or other enterprise teams if required.
- Partner and collaborate with enterprise support teams and outside vendors to resolve problems or issues.
- Maintain knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory; SCCM is a plus.
- Manage local LAN architecture and components in compliance with enterprise standards.
- Coordinate through change management to move, install, upgrade, remove and configure site IT assets and supporting infrastructure.
- Assist with support of wireless networks, servers, network and peripheral devices related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with department standards.
- Takes ownership of issues by performing problem analysis to implement appropriate solutions with the aim of restoring service quickly; escalate incidents where necessary.
- Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to management for consideration and implementation.
- Ensure work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with department guidelines and corporate policies.
- Ensure all interactions (incidents, change tickets, etc.) are logged / maintained within the ITSM toolset.
- Maintain and take ownership of asset records throughout the life-cycle of end-points.
- Support and conduct routine audits of site IT assets and processes to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable governmental regulations.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in a discipline related to the role or 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to solve moderately complex problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions.Knowledge of facility EHS procedures and PPE; lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.Knowledge of endpoint software / OS such as Windows (current and recent versions), macOS, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace is a plus.Ability to recognize anomalies and critical situations and respond appropriately.Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels.Ability to learn specialized software as needed and maintain proficiency in primary tools used for daily work.Maintains a first-class level of customer service and professionalism.Ability to write clearly and precisely for the work being performed.Compensation & Benefits
RRD's current salary range for this role is $30.00 to $38.00 / hour.
