Northrop Grumman, Missile Defense Integration Business Unit, is seeking a Program Operations Manager 2 to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This role is located in Huntsville, Alabama with limited remote work accommodations.
In this highly dynamic and interactive role, you will interact with numerous stakeholders including program management, business management, engineering, and the customer. Outstanding organizational and leadership skills are required to succeed in this role.
Essential Functions :
- Managing the program operations team of varying experience levels, including functional and job assignment management and prioritization.
 - Ensuring the program operations team is successful in their responsibilities to the program in the areas of processes, procedures, training, audit support, communications, metrics, project tools, on-boarding, off-boarding, event logistics, and program review support.
 - Engaging the team with timely flow-down of information and fostering robust collaboration within the team.
 - Performing direct tasks and assuming individual roles as necessary to support the team and program objectives.
 - Collaborating with program and business leadership to identify and support evolving program operational needs.
 - Maintaining awareness of each team member's responsibilities and performance, providing guidance, and helping them to identify resources needed to overcome obstacles and meet project objectives.
 - Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of program scope, schedules, performance objectives, internal and external processes, guidelines, policies, and best practices, and ensuring that all functional team members are aware of and are compliant with these items.
 - Supporting and leading program initiatives, which could include process improvement, workforce engagement, training material development, cross-organization collaboration, etc.
 - Ensuring that team projects are completed on schedule.
 
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience, or a Master's degree and 6 years of experience.Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD issued Secret security clearance, and a minimum of an interim Secret clearance will be required to start.Recent experience in managing Internal Research and Development (IRAD) / Non-Contract Technical Activity (NCTA) programs.Proven experience managing and leading a team to achieve broad objectives.Experience supporting Government contracts and / or project management.Self-motivated, proactive, organized and detail oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills.The ability to interact effectively with a broad cross-section of disciplines (technical and non-technical).Strong project management skills, with familiarity in methodologies such as Agile, Lean, or Six Sigma.Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.Preferred Qualifications :
Demonstrated success in a program operations or similar leadership role.Experience in Fire Control Systems.Experience in program processes, procedures, training, metrics, logistics, communications, and / or project tools.Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.Experience working with MDA and / or DoD customers.Active DoD Secret or higher security clearancePrimary Level Salary Range : $149,400.00 - $224,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
