Job Description
The PACS Administrator coordinates all daily operations of the PACS equipment, including image workflow, archiving, routing, prefetching, and other related activities.
The PACS Administrator also ensures proper operations of data into the PACS as well as network transmission, RIS validation, and exceptions handling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assigns and updates user and system password and access levels.
- Ensues that studies are flowing from modalities to the archive and reading stations through the various interfaces and processing queues.
- Repairs broken and corrupted studies and splits and merges studies.
- Updates the system configuration as new modalities, workstations, and RIS codes are added over time.
- Ensures validation of details and oversees network and operational management of the picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
- Assists with implementation of upgrades to maintain the system at optimal performance.
- Assists end users with RIS and PACS-related issues.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in making critical decisions.
- Skilled in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Performs other functions as required and / or assigned.
Position Requirements :
Requires two or more years of related experience. Bachelor's degree in related healthcare discipline or information systems discipline or equivalent experience required.
Excellent written / oral communication skills required. Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects.
Proficiency in office automation systems, Microsoft Office, required. Familiarity with Infinitt radiology applications a plus.
