AdventHealth Tampa, a faith-based not-for-profit 626-bed tertiary-level acute care hospital located in the uptown district of Tampa, Florida, specializes in advanced cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience and neurology, digestive health, orthopedics, womens services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and general surgery including minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures. GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year.

The role you'll contribute :
This specifically trained nurse is responsible for participation in the surgical suite to function in the role of Circulator and assist the surgeon in performing surgical procedures. The RN Circulator possesses knowledge of instrumentation, sterile technique, and adherence to AORN guidelines during the care of the surgical patient. This role maintains a safe surgical environment throughout the perioperative course and is engaged in the planning, administering, and / or supervising of nursing activities during the perioperative and intraoperative care of the patient. Responsibilities also extend to the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirmed; and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness. Additionally, this position involves the administration of medication and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner and the supervision and teaching of other personnel in the theory and performance of any of the above acts. The RN Circulator is committed to adhering to the Adventist Health System Corporate Compliance Plan, and to all the rules and regulations of applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. This role may be assigned to the scrub role or second assistant based on level of training and experience and assists in any other tasks as directed by the specialty coordinator / charge or manager of the CVOR.

Assists with cleaning rooms, restocking supplies, and sustaining the LEAN process.
Assumes charge responsibility of the appropriate unit in the absence or delegation of the Charge Nurse or Manager / Director.
Floats to other cardiovascular or surgical service units as patient or census needs require.
Participates in training and precepting new staff, sharing knowledge and skills.
Accepts fair share of call to ensure the unit is covered 24 / 7.
Responds to code situations within the department.
Other duties as assigned.

Associates of Nursing required
Bachelor's of Nursing preferred
1 acute care nursing experience Required
2 OR experience Preferred
RN License required
ACLS required
BLS required
