Legal Intern, Fall
The New York City Anti-Violence Project (AVP) is seeking Legal Interns for Fall 2025. AVP envisions a world in which all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ), and HIV-affected people are safe, respected, and live free from violence. AVP's mission is to empower lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected communities and allies to end all forms of violence through organizing and education, and support survivors through counseling and advocacy.
AVP has developed a legal program specifically for LGBTQ and HIV-affected survivors of violence and is seeking two law students for our Law Intern Program. Under the supervision of the Staff Attorney and Director of Legal Services, the interns will work directly with LGBTQ and HIV-affected community members who are survivors of violence. Our legal department has a generalist practice, providing services in an array of legal matters such as immigration, family law, housing, and name changes.
