Position Overview:

As a key member of our AI engineering team, the Generative AI Workflow Developer will design, build, deploy and maintain intelligent, multi-step workflows and conversational systems. You will combine expertise in large language models (LLMs), orchestration frameworks (such as n8n), cloud or hybrid infrastructure (primarily Azure) and emerging open-source AI tooling. You will collaborate cross-functionally to integrate AI-driven capabilities into enterprise applications and drive continuous improvement of deployed agents and systems.

Location:

Onsite in Melbourne, FL with hybrid schedule.

Your Day to Day as a Generative AI Developer:

  • Supports the design and implementation of autonomous, multi-step AI agents (workflows) that leverage LLMs + orchestration to automate complex business processes (e.g., research automation, document processing, data synthesis).
  • Creates workflow automations using orchestration tools such as n8n (or equivalents), connecting APIs, event triggers, data sources, and AI models into end-to-end solutions.
  • Develops, deploys and manages Generative AI solutions using both cloud and open-source ecosystems: e.g., Microsoft Azure services (Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Search / Cognitive Search, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Functions) and open-source frameworks (e.g., Ollama, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face stacks).
  • Contributes to the design and implementation of conversational AI systems (chatbots, virtual assistants) capable of business-task execution and user-interaction.
  • Applies advanced prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures and model-optimization techniques to ensure high performance, accuracy and reliability of deployed agents.
  • Collaborates with data scientists, business analysts, product owners and engineering teams to integrate AI workflows into enterprise systems, aligning with business objectives and user needs.
  • Establishes testing, monitoring, optimization and governance frameworks for AI agents — covering performance metrics, reliability, bias-mitigation, ethical AI compliance and scalability.
  • Documents technical architecture, workflow designs, integration points, and operational support procedures; participates in knowledge sharing and best-practice establishment.
  • Stays abreast of advances in generative AI, orchestration technologies, workflow automation and the open-source ecosystem; contribute to proof-of-concepts and innovation-driven pilots.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline — or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience through internships, coursework, or professional in software development, AI/ML engineering or data science.
  • Programming skills in Python (and potentially JavaScript or Node.js for orchestration/integration work) and experience with APIs, data pipelines and integration of external services.
  • Conceptual understanding of NLP, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering and related techniques.
  • Communication skills — able to present complex technical concepts in business-friendly language.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, self-motivation and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes / AKS) in enterprise production environments.
  • Experience building workflow automations or orchestration using tools such as n8n, Logic Apps, or equivalent.
  • Experience with CI/CD, GitOps or MLOps practices for model deployment and lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing AI/ML solutions within the Microsoft Azure platform including (but not limited to) Azure OpenAI Service and Azure AI Search / Cognitive Search.
  • Experience working with open-source generative AI frameworks such as Ollama, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face model ecosystems.
  • Experience designing or deploying conversational agents or virtual assistants in a business context.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security, compliance, data governance and ethical AI best practices.
  • Previous experience in multi-step, agentic workflow architectures (i.e., agents that orchestrate other agents or workflows) and building orchestration pipelines for LLMs.
  • Web development skills including ASP.Net, C#, JavaScript, CSS.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement plans.
  • Flexible work schedules and paid time off to promote a healthy work-life balance.
  • Professional development opportunities, including mentorship programs and sponsorship for continuing education.
  • An inclusive atmosphere that celebrates new perspectives and supports collaboration between different generations.
  • The chance to be part of a mission-driven organization making a positive impact on the future of energy.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and training to grow throughout your career!
