SUMMARY
The Bartender delivers an elevated beverage and hospitality experience through precise cocktail execution, strong product knowledge, and warm, attentive service. This role prepares cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to Ama’s standards while maintaining organization, cleanliness, and a polished bar environment.
Bartenders are expected to work with speed, accuracy, and focus while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor. They support bar guests and servers alike, ensuring seamless communication between the bar and the dining room.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Drink Execution & Beverage Knowledge
Prepare cocktails with precision, consistency, and speed according to established specs.Maintain deep knowledge of cocktail components, spirits, wines, beers, and NA options.Follow all batching, juicing, garnish, and mise en place procedures.Ensure accuracy in flavor, balance, technique, and presentation.Guest Service & Hospitality
Greet and serve bar guests with warmth and professionalism.Engage guests with thoughtful recommendations and menu guidance.Pace beverage service appropriately with food courses and guest needs.Address guest concerns with care and professionalism.Support for Dining Room Service
Prepare beverage orders for the entire restaurant quickly and accurately.Communicate clearly with servers, runners, and hosts about drink timing and modifications.Maintain accuracy in the POS system and follow all cash-handling procedures.Cleanliness & Organization
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout the shift.Execute opening and closing procedures thoroughly each day.Clean and sanitize tools, glassware, equipment, and high-touch surfaces.Ensure all bottles, juices, garnishes, and tools are stored properly.Inventory & Stock
Maintain par levels of juice, syrups, garnishes, glassware, tools, and liquor.Communicate 86’d items or low stock to the Lead Bartender or Beverage Manager.Assist with weekly inventory and organization of the bar and storage areas.Teamwork & Collaboration
Support barbacks and other bartenders during service.Attend pre-shifts, tastings, and training sessions.Uphold a positive, supportive atmosphere behind the bar.Physical Requirements
Stand for extended periods (8–10 hours).Lift and carry up to 40 lbs., including cases and bar equipment.Move quickly and safely in a fast-paced environment.Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 1–2 years of bartending experience in a full-service or craft-cocktail bar.Strong understanding of cocktail technique, spirits, wine, and beer.Ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining high standards.Excellent communication and guest engagement skills.Alignment with Ama’s values of equity, sustainability, community, and hospitality.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Hourly Rate
Tipped position, paid in accordance with Massachusetts Tip Law and the restaurant’s payroll schedule.
Paid Time Off
One (1) week (40 hours) of paid sick time per year.Additional Benefits
