Complex Director of Revenue Management
Exciting new role at Sonesta Hotel and Resorts for 2 Full-Service hotels, including a brand-new build! The Complex Director of Revenue Management is responsible for effectively implementing pricing strategies and e-commerce tactics, along with the development of future demand forecasts and budgets for a select group of properties. Responsibilities also include the monitoring and managing of inventory via multiple distribution channels including, but not limited to, GDS, CRS and Web. The position's success will be measured by ensuring that all efforts are made to maximize production from all channels to maximize market share, EBITDA and achieve company revenue objectives.
Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include :
- Responsible for the daily room inventory management process and daily pricing process.
- Monitor competitor rates, positioning, strategies and data; maintain understanding of the dynamics of the local market and demand generators and present appropriate action plans to management.
- Analyze local events and activities and project the effect of opportunities they create.
- Understand the macro and micro-economic variables affecting supply and demand in the local marketplace and use this knowledge to create accurate operational and financial room revenue forecasts.
- Perform unconstrained demand analysis to determine optimal business mix.
- Responsible for monthly room revenue forecasts and the annual budget.
- Oversee process for evaluating all opportunities for contracted business (group, wholesale, corporate negotiated, etc.) presented through the Sales department while ensuring speed to market.
- Responsible for the maintenance of any software programs which contribute to the management of rooms revenue, including the CRS, RMS, PMS and Sales & Catering system.
- Monitor RevPAR index and provide critical analysis of performance on weekly, monthly and annual basis.
- Chair weekly Revenue Strategy meetings in order to formulate and disseminate strategies and tactics. Ensure that prior decisions are re-visited in this forum in order to evaluate their effectiveness and promote learning.
- Ensure all distribution channels have correct content and pricing.
- Develop and maintain a close relationship with the market manager of Third Party Intermediaries to maximize the opportunities with these channels.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other Market Directors of Revenue.
- Place test calls to Central Reservation Office (CRO) and property to ensure accuracy of rate quoting, restrictions and selling approach.
- Manage group pricing and cut off dates.
- Complete all required month end reports with detailed analysis. If necessary, complete action plans for the property to follow to create additional production / revenue.
- Review and leverage Kalibri and Travel Click reports for trends, booking windows and identify opportunities to generate / optimize room revenue.
- Review of account production volume with Transient Sales Manager and Director of Sales.
Qualifications and Skills :
Collaboration skills : Proven experience acting as a liaison between a variety of departments and stakeholders.Analytical skills : Ability to track metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze them, and turn them into actionable strategies.Presentation skills : Must be able to present and share data in a polished, meaningful way, whether it's a quick email, in-depth report, or presentation deck. Must communicate it in a clear, engaging manner.Relationship-building : Cross-functionally build trust with other departments and create relationships.Five+ years relevant revenue management experience.Proficient in hospitality systems such as CRS, RMS, and PMS.SynXis, IDeaS, and Opera skills preferred.Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.Extensive knowledge of DC market and hospitality industry.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Go Beyond @SonestaHotels

Location : Remote with travel, minimal travel may be required.
Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree preferred and at least five year's relevant revenue management / reservations experience.

Pay Range : $145,000 to $150,000 / year. Pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills and job specific experience / overall experience.
