What this job involves : As a Chief Engineer at JLL, you will serve as a crucial on-site leader responsible for overseeing engineering teams and ensuring the efficient, safe, and responsible operation of all infrastructure systems and equipment supporting manufacturing processes. This role combines advanced technical expertise with strong management skills to maintain optimal facility operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives. You'll be at the forefront of JLL's commitment to operational excellence, leading a team of skilled professionals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, performance, and client satisfaction that define our industry-leading approach to facility management.
What your day-to-day will look like :
- Lead and manage the engineering team through hiring, training, coaching, and personal development initiatives
- Oversee comprehensive maintenance tasks for facility infrastructure and production equipment
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and pneumatic issues in machines and equipment
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance procedures to optimize system performance
- Manage engineering budget and actively participate in overall operating budget development process
- Assist in developing and executing capital improvement plans aligned with facility objectives
- Select, schedule, and supervise contractors while monitoring their performance and compliance standards
- Respond effectively to emergencies and service calls with swift problem resolution
Required Qualifications :
Minimum 7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, or similar leadership roleProven people management experience leading technical teamsUniversal CFC EPA certificationProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use ladders up to 30 feet tallPhysical capability for frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and drivingStrong customer service and communication skills for client-facing interactionsPreferred Qualifications :
Trade school education, union training, military service, or college degreeExperience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environmentsKnowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and water treatmentFamiliarity with energy management and sustainability practicesProject management skills and experience with technical training program developmentLocation : On-site SAN ANTONIO, TX
