Job Description
Picture the start of your shift. You pull up the latest customer spec, lay a sample part on the bench, and dive into the details—dimensions, tolerances, operation sequence, and which tooling inserts or drills you’ll swap to hit the target. As a Precision CNC Milling Machinist, you’ll turn that plan into real parts using conventional equipment, special-purpose machines, and CNC machining centers, all built around customer requirements. We have openings on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
How your day unfolds
- Review blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, operation order, and required tooling changes.
- Measure and confirm dimensions on sample pieces to ensure conformance to final specifications before running production.
- Start and monitor machine operations, watching for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions, and adjust machine controls or control media as needed.
- Perform inspection and, when required, statistical analysis of the process to maintain quality levels for both parts and processes.
- Assist with machine teardowns when needed and verify final part conformance to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, production staff, programmers, and others to resolve machining or assembly challenges.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality—cover responsibilities if absent and arrive at meetings and appointments on time.
