  • This position is 100% on-site in Lancaster, CA with no hybrid / remote work options available.

SUMMARY :

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in building, implementing and delivering all Human Resources operations, including processes and services that create, support, and sustain a high performance and innovative culture. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas : benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, on-boarding, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law assistance to employees, supervisors and management in a variety of human resources related issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

  • Responsible for Recruiting and Hiring collaborating with managers to identify and understand staffing needs
  • Develop recruitment plan to facilitate successful hiring
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential candidates
  • Manage the open position requisition process and post approved positions to appropriate job boards / websites / other resources
  • Screen candidate resumes and applications and prepare an ideal candidate pool for consideration within an appropriate and consistent timeline
  • Coordinate and oversee the interview processing including scheduling phone, Skype, and onsite interviews with candidates, managers, and all other interviewers as necessary
  • Help complete reference checks on all potential candidates and review findings with hiring manager prior to job offer
  • Help create and extend employment offers
  • Initiate post-offer, pre-employment screening and initial onboarding process, including New Hire Orientation for all new hires
  • Generate monthly new hire / recruiting reports to review with management
  • Ensure accurate job descriptions are created and maintained for all current and future
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system
  • Counsels management on resolution of employee relations issues to help promote a productive, cooperative, and teamwork Recommends actions to assist in the resolution of plant / employee problems / concerns.
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all RIDE employees; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
  • Manages annual open enrollment each year. Arranges for distribution of materials from carriers, assists with communicating changes to employees, arranges for on-site representation by providers, and conducts employee presentations. Processes changes within deadlines.
  • Ensures RIDE employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions. Communicates plan provisions to RIDE employees (and potential employees / applicants) so individuals can make informed benefit decisions.
  • Monitors the performance evaluation program and revises decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Manages worker's compensation process : reports injuries, works closely with WC carrier and doctors, makes appointments for employees, arranges modified duty work (when necessary), and monitors the progress of the employee and process. Perform file and benefit audits. Perform branch compliance audits.

    This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT :

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary .

    TRAVEL :

    Little or no travel is expected for this position.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

    A bachelor's degree and 5-10 years' human resource experience, or a master's degree in human resource management and 5 years' experience in the HR field, or seven years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.

    ADDITIONAL ELEGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS :

    The ability to utilize sound judgment, discretion and maintain confidentiality

    Knowledge and ability to apply federal and state legislation as it relates to employment and recruitment matters.

    Experience handling employee relations issues Excellent organization and prioritization skills

    Demonstrated ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities

    Strong customer service orientation

    Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

    Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including, Word, Power Point and Excel

    Excellent presentation skills for employee training

    Basic math skills for attendance / payroll preparation

    PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.

    Pay Range : $68,640-$90,000 / year
