Job Description

This position is designed for a Forklift Operator responsible for the safe movement of products within the lumber yard. The role plays a crucial part in loading and unloading materials essential for rebuilding communities, specifically in residential and commercial properties.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload building materials such as windows, doors, and wood supplies.
• Operate mid-size industrial forklifts for 40% of the time to move materials.
• Meet with community members and customers to facilitate material pick-up.
• Build loads and load trucks for company and customer vehicles.
• Maintain an efficient, clean, and well-operated lumberyard.
• Provide exceptional customer service to contractors and do-it-yourselfers.
• Pull and stage materials accurately for pickup or delivery.
• Conduct cycle counts and maintain yard organization.
• Ensure correct materials are shipped and received.
• Use and maintain all equipment properly.
• Commit to continuous learning about products, packages, and procedures.
• Follow all safety rules, procedures, and inventory management protocols.
• Ensure pulled products are neatly placed and presentable.
• Clean up and dispose of all debris properly.
• Take initiative to address tasks that need to be completed without prompting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waynesville, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
