Diversified Specialties was recently acquired by B&B Manufacturing, Inc. B&B is a global company headquartered in La Porte, IN, that produces and distributes custom and standard mechanical power transmission components. Products include sheaves, timing pulleys, timing belts, sprockets and gears. We supply distributors and manufacturers with thousands of various components.

General Responsibilities
The General Manager leads and oversees the day-to-day front office, production, warehousing, and fulfillment operations. This role is responsible for all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and the Welfare of almost 20 team members at this site.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
- Trains and manages all employees that work under all areas of responsibility.
- Plans and directs daily work.
- Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees, along with planning, monitoring, and appraising job performance in accordance with company policy and all applicable laws.
Duties / Responsibilities :
First instinct is to Coach and Lead before being a Boss. Strong Leadership is vital to success.Responsible for overall management of production activities and achieving production targets with required capabilities, yield, lead time, productivity in accordance with all corporate policies and applicable laws.Works with local and corporate teams to accomplish business objectives.Optimizes the processes in terms of consistent quality and productivity and makes or recommends the modification of procedures, work instructions and / or operator instructions.Responsible for implementation of appropriate metrics, cost control, and cost reduction initiatives and works with team to implement improvements.Oversees planning for selection of equipment, machines, tools, fixtures, and inspection methodsReview’s production plans for performance and verifies labor reportsAssists with resolving quality and process issues.Responsible for development, justification, and implementation of continuous process improvement initiatives in safety, quality, delivery. productivity, efficiency, and capacity.Responsible for ensuring strict adherence of all company manufacturing standards / methods and policies and assures all standards are metEnsures that all paperwork, product, and transactions are processed accurately in an effective and prompt mannerMonitors physical condition of departments, equipment, directs work for repair and replacement.Manages staff performance and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations.Objectively enforces policies and procedures and disciplines as needed.Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.High quality verbal and written communications with Customers and others.Capable of prioritizing time to perform these duties as well as the mental capacity to learn all necessary areas of work for efficient and effective operation.Any other task assigned by managementDesired Skills / Abilities :

10 years’ work experience, most recent 5 years is progressive supervisory / manager experience.College, Trade School, Certifications, or relevant training.Policy adherence, analysis, and development.ERP proficiency, prefer experience in JobBoss / E2Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and working in a warehouse environment.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.This is a mid-level position and salary is based on experience
