Job Details – PACU RN Travel Assignment

Location : Abilene, Texas 79601

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Start Date : December 15, 2025 (January 5, 2026 may be considered)

Shift : 3x12-hour day shifts per week (varied start times, may begin as early as 5AM)

Weekly Hours : 36

Unit : PreOp / PACU (Unit 12810)

Open Positions : 2

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1680 - $1800

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license required at submission

Minimum 2 years of recent PACU or PreOp nursing experience

Previous travel nursing experience required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS

Experience with electronic charting systems (Altera preferred)

Background in community hospital, LTAC, or Trauma Level I / II settings preferred

Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Must pass facility drug screen upon arrival (includes Marijuana)

No first-time travelers; local candidates not accepted (must live outside 150-mile radius)

PACU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in PreOp and PACU settings for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics

Monitor and assess post-anesthesia patients, manage pain, and respond to emergencies

Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform phlebotomy

Educate patients and families on pre- and post-operative care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services

Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
