Job descriptionInterpretation of rated charts for rigging gear Safe rigging practices and procedures Hand and radio communications and the responsibilities of the Rigger in Charge Determination of weight and center of gravity of loads Selection and use of hoists, chain falls and come-alongs Lifting and Handling gear inspection Support the assembly and disassembly of machinery and equipment on and off the ships Responsible for lifting, moving and positioning ships and shipyard machinery, equipment, structural parts and other heavy loads Rig nuclear components Working under radiological controls (obtain and work with a TLD). Provide emergency response to fires and accidents Medical, Dental, Vision 401K Plan Paid Vacation and holidays Shift Premium Health and Wellness Programs Commuter / Rideshare Van Services Tuition Reimbursement Program Safety Boot Reimbursement Program Hourly Rates from $31.61 - $41.14 High School Diploma or GED or 2+ years relevant technical experience 5+ years of relevant experience Candidates must be available for any shift. Previous rigging experience High School Diploma or GED Successful completion of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative Training Program Candidates must be able to read and understand shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, etc. Candidates must be able to work all shifts, perform high work. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
