Job Description : We are seeking experienced Paraprofessionals to support students in a school-based environment during the 2024 / 2025 school year.
As a Paraprofessional, you will work closely with teachers and other educational professionals to assist students, particularly those with special needs, in achieving their academic and developmental goals.
Responsibilities :
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs, as directed by the supervising teacher.
- Assist students with classroom assignments, activities, and projects.
- Implement behavior management strategies to support student engagement and participation.
- Support students during transitions between activities and classrooms.
- Help students with personal care tasks, such as toileting, feeding, and mobility, as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents / guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior, as required by school policies.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development activities to enhance job performance and knowledge.
Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or completion of a paraprofessional training program preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with special needs, preferably in an educational setting.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
- Knowledge of basic educational principles and instructional techniques.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and student needs.
- Must meet all requirements set by local and state regulations for paraprofessionals in educational settings.
