This role offers an excellent opportunity to oversee project accounting and financial operation while working closely with project management and leadership.
Salary range is from $90,000.00 to $120,000.00 commensurate with experience.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Manage and oversee all aspects of project accounting, including job cost tracking, progress billing, and financial reporting.Prepare, review, and submit AIA progress payments and endure billing compliance with contract terms.Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly Work In Progress (WIP) reports, providing insights on project profitability and financial health.Coordinate with project managers and senior leadership to monitor budgets, forecast costs, and mitigate financial risks.Ensure accuracy and compliance in project-related audits, including workers' compensation and regulatory filings.Review and approve subcontractor invoices, payments, and lien waivers to ensure proper documentation and timely processing.Develop and maintain project accounting procedures, improving efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.Mentor and support junior accounting staff in best practices for construction and environmental project accounting.Collaborate with external auditors, clients, and vendors to resolve complex financial issues and maintain strong relationships.Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making at the project and organizational level.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred but not required).5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in project or construction accounting.Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing, progress billing, and WIP reporting.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting / ERP systems.Excellent communication skills for interacting with project managers, leadership, clients, and vendors.For more information, please visit our website www.retroenvironmental.com
