Position Overview : We’re seeking an experienced Grants Accountant to manage the full financial lifecycle of government and foundation‑funded programs. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and city funding regulations, oversees grant reporting, and supports budget development and monitoring across multiple active awards. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with government contracts, cost reimbursement, and grant compliance, and enjoys working in a collaborative, mission‑oriented nonprofit environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of grant and contract accounting, including expense tracking, budget monitoring, and monthly / quarterly invoicing for reimbursement‑based grants.
• Prepare and submit financial reports to funders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and agency‑specific requirements.
• Maintain detailed records of restricted, conditionally restricted, and unrestricted funds to ensure proper cost allocation and documentation.
• Reconcile general ledger (GL) accounts related to grants and contracts, including accounts receivable, deferred revenue, and accruals.
• Collaborate with Program Managers, Development, and Finance to prepare grant budgets, budget modifications, and forecasts.
• Support annual audit preparation and provide documentation for grant testing, SEFA schedules, and compliance reviews.
• Monitor funding compliance and help strengthen internal controls and fiscal procedures to meet government regulations and nonprofit standards.
