Ensures adherence to Department of Health and facility policies and procedures. Resident care assignment may include Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups.\n\nHow does it get done?\n\nAnswer patient call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine patients' needs.\n\nTurn or reposition bedridden patients.\n\nProvide physical support to assist patients to perform daily living activities, such as getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, standing, walking, or exercising.\n\nReview patients' dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences to ensure patient receives appropriate diet.\n\nMeasure and record food and liquid intake or urinary and fecal output, reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.\n\nWho are the customers?\n\nResidents at a long-term care facility.\n\nIdeal Candidate\n\nWill have : \n\nThe ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.\n\nThe ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.\n\nThe willingness to handle difficult residents with patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.\n\nThe ability to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.\n\nMinimum Qualification\n\nCertification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Nursing Aide (CNA) OR eligible to attain certification.\n\nEmployment Requirements\n\nThis position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and / or drug testing. Will be screened for tuberculosis (TB) upon hire. Employment is subject to criminal background check pursuant to New Mexico Caregivers Criminal Screening Act (Sections 29-17-2 through 29-17-5 NMSA 1978 and 7.1.9.1 through 7.1.9.11 NMAC) and is conditional pending results.
